global_colors_info=&#8220;{}&#8220;]<\/p>\n<p>Die Festung von Civitella liegt 600 Meter \u00fcber dem Meeresspiegel in strategischer Lage an der ehemaligen Nordgrenze des Vizek\u00f6nigreichs Neapel zum Kirchenstaat. Sie ist eines der bedeutendsten Werke der Milit\u00e4rtechnik in Europa und zeichnet sich durch ihre elliptische Form mit einer Ausdehnung von 25.000 Quadratmetern und einer L\u00e4nge von \u00fcber 500 Metern aus. Sie ist ber\u00fchmt f\u00fcr ihren tapferen Widerstand gegen die Belagerung durch die Franzosen im Jahr 1806 und die Piemontesen im Jahr 1861. Heute kann das Bauwerk teilweise besichtigt werden, bis die Restaurierungsarbeiten abgeschlossen sind. In Civitella befindet sich auch eine der engsten Gassen Italiens. Civitella is also home to one of the narrowest alleys in Italy.
