Offida
The historic centre stands on rolling hills in the province of Ascoli Piceno. The municipality is characterised by a long history that has left a rich cultural and architectural legacy. Among the most important monuments to visit in Offida, we find the Church of Santa Maria della Rocca, a little gem surrounded on three sides by as many cliffs that carve it out, enhancing its grandeur and opening it to the gaze of two valleys. Another symbol of Offida is the Palazzo Comunale, dating back to the 13th century, with its characteristic crenellated tower and the Serpente Aureo Theatre. Offida is also famous for the production of fine lace, a tradition that is handed down for at least five centuries, and for the famous Historical Carnival of very ancient origins.
